To apply for our 2019 Paid Summer Internship please visit: https://www.camcycle.org.uk/internship/
We’re excited to announce the launch of our new paid internship programme. We are seeking candidates who are passionate about everyday cycling and keen to bring their own knowledge, energy and commitment to their work for the charity, while developing skills and experience that will prepare them for future career opportunities. The internship is planned as an eight-week programme beginning in July, although we can be flexible on dates and working hours to ensure it is open to as many candidates as possible.
The intern will be working alongside Our Executive Director, Roxanne De Beaux, and Communications and Community Officer, Anna Williams, in addition to our team of volunteers. Half of the successful candidate’s time will be spent working on a key strategic project, our campaign for Street Cycle Parking, with a chance to develop skills including project planning, market research, event organisation and communications. The remainder of the programme will be spent on general support and development activities such as online content creation, campaigning events and administration. The activities will be selected in collaboration with the intern to focus on the skills they would like to develop for their chosen career.
We’re dedicated to providing an internship programme of a high standard which will be beneficial for the intern’s professional development. De Beaux says, “As a charitable organisation, we believe it is important that any internship we offer should be paid, high-quality, open and accessible. As such we have designed our programme to meet the standard set by the the CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) Internship Charter and will support the successful candidate with a planned programme of mentoring and development. We see the intern as a valuable contributor to our team and look forward to their work making a real impact on our goals.
