We object to further obstruction of routes through station development

In the application (17/0491/FUL), the Design and Access statement states that this is an “important pedestrian and cycle route through the CB1 development” and therefore the design must be treated accordingly.

The erection of the pavilion here will prevent the use of the area as a safe and convenient through route for cycling. It will put cyclists using the area in conflict with pedestrians.

With the failure of the station square development to provide a safe and convenient route for cyclists coming from the south to reach the Cyclepoint cycle park and future Chisholm trail beyond, we cannot allow this alternative route to be compromised as well.

We ask either that the station square be reconfigured to provide a safe, separate cycleway or that this application is rejected outright.
