Chisholm Trail needs your support

Planning applications for both the Abbey Chesterton foot/cycle bridge and Phase One of the Trail have been submitted, but need support to counter a determined opposition. We received more information including an extension to the comments deadline which is now Friday 7th October after the newsletter had gone to press. Please write in support of these applications. More details can be found on our Action web page.

Next monthly meetings

On Tuesday 4 October: we welcome Nic Fox from Velo Sister, a shop selling cycling themed, ethically sourced clothing. A percentage of the profits go to supporting women in cycling. Join us at the Friends' Meeting House on Jesus Lane from 7:30 for an 8pm start.

The following monthly meeting will be on Tuesday 1 November, details to be confirmed.

Our AGM will be on Tuesday 6 December, more details in the AGM newsletter article.

'Big Give' pledges required for 'Christmas Challenge'

This year we will be participating in the Big Give Christmas Challenge. The Christmas Challenges encourages people to donate to charitable causes in the lead up to Christmas by providing match funding for donations. This match funding is made by 'pledgers' who pledge now to match donations made by others later. You can find out more and make your pledge on the Camcycle Big Give pledge web page.

We encourage those thinking about pledging to get in touch with us first by emailing contact@camcycle.org.uk

Funds raised in the Christmas Challenge will be used to support our City Deal advocacy work in 2017.

Shop at Co-op and donate your local community fund to Camcycle

Co-op shoppers who live in the CB4 area can now donate funds to Camcycle simply by becoming Co-op members and choosing Camcycle as the beneficiary for your Local Community Fund contribution. Funds from this programme will be used to support our Freshers activities in 2017. More about Co-op membership

If you would like your local Co-op to support us in future community fund rounds, then please let your store manager (and us) know.

Cycling UK Space for Cycling roadshow launches in Cambridge

On Saturday 22 October, Space for Cycling will kick off its roadshow in Cambridge at the Ross Street Community Centre. See the Cycling UK website for more details.
