Cycling Embassy of Great Britain is coming to Cambridge

16th/17th July: Cambridge is hosting the Cycling Embassy of Great Britain's AGM. This is a national umbrella organisation with which we are affiliated, and is an opportunity to meet and share experience with other cycle campaigners. Some space is available for locals, though priority has to go to those travelling from outside Cambridge. If you are interested in attending, email us.

Consultations we are working on

Milton Road and Histon Road Local Liason Forums

The initial meeting of the Local Liaison Forums for these City Deal Projects was held on Tuesday 5th July. Matthew Danish, a local resident of Histon Road, attended on behalf of Camcycle. There will be design workshop events to feed into the LLFs, the dates are yet to be announced. City Deal officers had recommended that Camcycle be given allocated spaces at these events. The local councillors however, decided to remove that allocation. Due to Camcycle and local pressure, it does appear that this decision is now under review. In the interim, we urge local members to join the Histon Road Residents Association to ensure that there is a voice speaking for high quality cycle provision.

Councillors for the Milton Road LLF decided it would be "open" so that anyone wishing to attend could do so. The Milton Road design events have also been postponed, we will share the details when we know more.

Don't forget:

Trumpington Road Cycleway (Closes 25th July)

Two-way cycling in Romsey and Petersfield (Closes 29th July)

Walking and cycling improvements on Queen Edith's Way (Closes 1st August)

A1307 City Deal Bus and Cycle improvements consultation (Closes 1st August)

As the weather warms up the fairs, fêtes and festivals begin. One of our most important activities is attending these events so that we can discuss cycling and relevant issues with the community. This is a great opportunity to volunteer. It is a fun day or even just a fun hour and a great way to meet like-minded people. Reply to this email if you are interested. The next event is the Histon & Impington Feast Festival on the 9th of July.
