Weekly update – 18th March

Here is our weekly campaigning update.

Reach Ride Volunteers

Can you help us to distribute leaflets to promote the Reach Ride? Can you display leaflets or posters in your workplace, window, store or other public place? Can you help deliver leaflets to local bike shops, community centres etc? Please get in touch and we will arrange to get some leaflets to you.

We also need a few volunteers to help with marshalling on the day to make sure everyone knows where they are going and no-one is left behind. A reccie ride will be held on the 24th of April to show marshals the route. We are hoping to have new Camcycle branded T-shirts for volunteers.

Join our Reach Ride volunteering discussion or send a reply email.

Biomedical Campus Phase 2 Planning Application

Find out what is being planned for Phase 2 of the Biomedical campus and help us prepare our response. The planning application response deadline is the 1st of April.

Events Calendar for 2016 & 2017

We are preparing a calendar of events to help us better plan our Campaign activities. Do you know of any events where we should have a stall bike? Or perhaps you have ideas for other ways we can engage with the public. Please share your ideas on our Events Cyclescape thread or in a reply email.

Science Park Station planning application approved

The Science Park Station planning application has been approved by the Joint Development Control Forum. We have some concerns about sections where cyclists will be asked to dismount on routes where there are expected to be 1000's of journeys a day and sections of shared space for cyclists and pedestrians.

Campaign branding refresh

At the last monthly meeting our new branding concept received strong approval. We will be providing members with another look in out next newsletter and asking for feedback on our branding thread on Cyclescape. Watch this space!

In the meantime we are looking for volunteers with experience in graphic design, photography, illustration, web design and other relevant fields to help us in the branding transition process. Please get in touch if you would like to help.

Save the date – Campaign Social

Our next campaign social will be on the Monday, 18th of April at CB2.

This is a great chance to catch up with other campaigners, especially if you are new to the Campaign. If you haven't attended before you can send me an email so that we will know to look out for you.

You can join in the planning of our social events on Cyclescape. Let us know what you would like from a social catch up.

In the News

In this weeks life in the cycle lane Robin asks "what is wrong with planning applications?" with special reference to the student flats on Newmarket Road.

Get involved

Cyclescape is our discussion forum. Find out how to register and get started.
