# Question 1

Cambridge Cycling Campaign has created a guide to cycling best-practice called Making Space For Cycling, endorsed by all national cycling organisations. Do you fully support this guide, and if so, what one principle in it do you think could most effectively be applied in your ward?

Gaynor CLEMENTS
(Green Party)
The candidate has not responded to the survey.
Mark HERSOM
(Liberal Democrat)
The candidate has not responded to the survey.
Angela PATRICK
(Labour Party)

Yes I think the guide is really well thought out and makes complete sense.
People are motivated to cycle because it is faster than being stuck in a traffic jam, journey times are highly predictable, and it is a fun and social way to travel, providing an easy way to introduce healthy exercise into a daily routine. Only by providing proper cycling infrastructure can these benefits be achieved.

Nick WRIGHT
(Conservative Party)
The candidate has not responded to the survey.

# Question 2

What measures would you like to see to improve the safety of children getting to school?

Mark HERSOM

Angela PATRICK
(Labour Party)

Traffic calming, special walkways and cycle ways. Encourage people buses, I.e. Supervised Walking groups.

Nick WRIGHT
(Conservative Party)
The candidate has not responded to the survey.

# Question 3

What experience do you and your family have of cycling? Do you have any different concerns about younger or older family members cycling than you do yourself?

Gaynor CLEMENTS
(Green Party)
The candidate has not responded to the survey.
Mark HERSOM
(Liberal Democrat)
The candidate has not responded to the survey.
Angela PATRICK
(Labour Party)

We all have cycles, but sadly the younger and older members do not go on the roads as they are not considered safe for cycling.
I like to cycle but these days I do it less and less.

Nick WRIGHT
(Conservative Party)
The candidate has not responded to the survey.

# Question 4

The 2011 census shows that South Cambridgeshire has the highest levels of cycle commuting of any non-urban area, including substantial cycling into Cambridge city: how would you rate the current conditions for cycling from your ward into Cambridge, and how could it be improved?

Gaynor CLEMENTS
(Green Party)
The candidate has not responded to the survey.
Mark HERSOM
(Liberal Democrat)
The candidate has not responded to the survey.
Angela PATRICK
(Labour Party)

We could do with more cycle ways, there are some in Cambridge that are well used but there are places where the cyclists have no choice except to use the roads

Nick WRIGHT
(Conservative Party)
The candidate has not responded to the survey.
