Join Camcycle, Love to Ride and John Lewis and Partners as we join together for National Cycle to Work day to encourage more people to choose cycling for their daily commute. Find the Camcycle stall on the top floor of John Lewis Cambridge in front of the espresso bar between 11am and 3pm. We’ll be giving people advice on cycling to work and handing out cycling resources including Cambridge cycle maps and our Welcome to Cycling guides.
John Lewis will be giving top tips on how to cycle in style and Love to Ride will be encouraging people to cycle up to The Global Bike Challenge in September.
The Global Bike Challenge is a fun, free competition to see which workplace can get the most staff to try cycling. There are loads of prizes that you can win by riding and encouraging friends and colleagues to do the same.
Love to Ride is based on a proven model that has engaged over 400,000 participants with significant long-term increases in cycling participation. However, for the programme to be a success the organisation needs regular cyclists to spread the word and help enlist their workplaces.
By taking part, you can also generate useful data that makes things better for cyclists in Cambridge. Register your workplace and you will also have the bonus of being able to show your employers the number of cyclists, which is useful in getting better facilities for those that ride, such as cycle parking and showers.
If you register with Love to Ride on Cycle to Work day, you’ll be eligible to win additional prizes from a £5,650 prize pot. All you have to do is:
3) Log a ride to work on 8 August
