Works on Regent Terrace result in muddy hazard for people cycling

Camcycle is concerned about the impact of ongoing building works on Regent Terrace.

The muddy alternative route for cyclists and pedestrians, requests for cyclists to ‘dismount’, and poor signage have presented an unsatisfactory situation on a heavily used cycling and walking route.

This is particularly concerning as we understand that work is likely to continue for another year. We are concerned that the ‘temporary footpath’ will become muddy and slippery during wet weather and thus hazardous when wheeling one’s cycle (as requested) or for people on foot. We also note the additional hazard of the uneven edge to the tarmac where one rejoins Regent Terrace north of the building works.

We’ve written to the developers to express our concern and to ask them for how long they intent to close Regent Terrace and what they will put in place to mitigate the additional hazards likely to be caused by winter weather. You can read Our letter to Regent Terrace developers.
