Cambridgeshire County Council are now consulting on proposals to allow cyclists to travel both ways on most of the remaining one-way streets in Romesy and Petersfield. A letter has been sent to residents of the affected areas detailing the proposed changes.
We support these changes which will make cycling more accessible and convenient and allow people who are travelling by bike to utilise routes away from busy roads. This is a simple change to make with road markings and installation of ’except cycles’ signage below ‘no entry’ signs.
The additional streets proposed for ‘except cycles’ signage are:
Ross Street (south – the northern section is already two-way for cycling)
St. Eligius Street
Coronation Street (west of the junction with Panton Street)
Panton Street (north of the parking bays)
