Weekly update – 29th April

It is a big week next week. We have the Reach Ride, PCC hustings and City Council and PCC elections.

2nd May – Reach Ride

Join us for our annual ride to Reach Fair — it’s an ideal family day out! The ride is on Bank Holiday Monday, 2nd May, and we assemble in front of the Guildhall in time for a 10am departure.

3rd May Monthly Meeting – Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Hustings

This is a Public Meeting – All welcome

7:30pm for an 8pm start at Friends Meeting House Jesus Lane

The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough PCC elections will be held on the 5th of May 2016. We have invited the four candidates to our monthly meeting to help us understand their plans for road and cycling safety.

The four candidates are:
• Jason Ablewhite (Conservative)
• Dave Baigent (Labour)
• Nick Clarke (UKIP)
• Rupert Moss-Eccardt (Liberal Democrats)

Candidates will be asked a range of questions. Attendees are asked to submit questions on paper before and during the hustings.

5th May – Cambridge City Council Elections

See our election surveys to inform you of your local candidates’ views on cycling before you vote. The PCC elections are also on this day.

In the News

In this week’s 'Life in the cycle lane' Robin describes the Reach Ride as the perfect weekend activity. See video footage of the 2013 ride as well.
