As reported in the last newsletter, York is “arguably, the most cycle-friendly city in Britain”. Their road danger reduction policies have had a significant effect in the city (for example, there’s been a measurable reduction in reported accidents). At the April meeting we’ll have a guest speaker to talk about York’s experience and the success of their transport policies:
Tuesday 2nd April
Ken Spence, York City Council’s Road Safety Officer, will give us first hand accounts of what they’ve achieved. We’ll then be able to see how we can press our councils to adopt similar policies. The meeting will be at the usual time and place: 7:30pm at the Friends Meeting House.
