Since the last newsletter we have affiliated with the Cycling Campaign Network and the Cyclist’s Touring Club (CTC)
Cycle Campaign Network
This is a grouping of all the campaigning groups, like ours, through out the country. We’ll be able to exchange newsletters and keep abreast on how other campaigns are doing and what strategies they using.
Cyclist’s Touring Club
The CTC, founded in 1878, today promotes cycling as a means o travel and open air recreation, campaigns for improved conditions for cyclists, fights unfair legislation, and encourages technical improvements to the bicycle(!). They’re the largest group in the country and our affiliation gives us easy access to their excellent reports and newsletters. They have negotiated a third-party insurance for £1.80 a year which we will be able to offer to our members. If you’re not a member of the CTC it’s an excellent idea to take advantage of this – see the form at the end of this newsletter.
