Have you ever mounted a campaign to get people to have bells on their bikes, and use them?
I have had complaints from elderly people who walk along dual use tracks, such as Madingley Road, that they are quite frightened as they can’t hear bikes coming up behind them because of other traffic noise on busy roads. They would prefer to have someone ring a bell or call out to them rather than rush past without any warning.
I’ve just got a wonderful new Dutch bell which people laugh at rather than get offended.
