Abbey Street, an essential cycle route for avoiding hostile Newmarket Road, is closed for a year due to construction works. The photo shows it being used for car parking. After objections from the Campaign, highlighting by FOI that the TTRO was approved without reference to the cycle route, it was half re-opened. The other half, at the time of writing, is occupied only by portable toilets. Why was approval given to close a public route for this long, when clearly temporary use of this area (by builders) does not require the full year?
