The Cycle Friendly Employers Scheme has just received a national award, a COMMENDATION for the way in which the partnership project is trying to improve health at a local level. The two key areas are

  • encouraging more physical activity
  • reducing pollution

Health Alliance Awards were established in 1992 and are now made annually. There were over 300 entries, of a very high standard, covering a range of projects from skin cancer awareness to providing free smoke alarms. The adult cycle training sessions organised by Cambridge Cycling Campaign were seen as an important contribution to the Cycle Friendly Employers Scheme.
