Cycle Promoter Gets Another Six Months

Anne Taylor was appointed Cycling Promoter for the Cycle Friendly Employers Scheme for one year in the first instance (April 1996 to the end of March 1997). Anne is right on target (15 companies within the first year, 30 by the end of two years), with 17 Cycle Friendly companies signed up for the scheme. Each organisation has a Cycling Co-ordinator, travel-to-work surveys have been carried out, improvements are being made to cycling facilities, and the very good news is that Anne’s contract has been extended by six months. ‘This means I can continue to improve facilities at the workplace and do more to encourage new cyclists this spring and summer,’ said Anne.
