Last month, the Greater Cambridge Partnership Executive Board approved a public consultation on proposals for a Cambridge Sustainable Travel Zone (STZ). The consultation is expected to start in mid-October and run for around 10 weeks. You can find out more about the Sustainable Travel Zone in this explainer post on our blog.
Camcycle supports the principle of a Sustainable Travel Zone, which includes a road charge: the resulting reduction in traffic and extra funding could be transformative for walking and cycling. But, along with many others, we want to ensure alternatives to driving – including a high-quality cycle network – are in place as soon as possible.
We are keen to know what our members think about the proposal to further shape our position and campaigning on this issue. We are a democratic organisation and your thoughts are greatly valued.
