Photo of the week
Is there anything more photogentic than a bicycle in a frosty field? I will spare you all the pictures I have taken of my bike, instead here is a picture from a frosty morning by the River Cam.
We would love to recieve your photos of cycling in Cambridge and beyond.
Join us for the e-Luminate Festival
10 February, 6.30pm, Market Square.
Camcycle will be participating in a bicycle parade for the e-Luminate Festival 'Switch On' and we invite our members to join us. There will also be special bikes with light displays and Camsight tandem riders will lead the parade. You will need to bring your own bike decorated with fairy lights etc. Please email if you would like to be involved.
Election Surveys – we need your questions!
Direct action campaigning. What are your thoughts?
It has been suggested that we undertake more 'direct action' style Campaigning. We are keen to hear your thoughts. Cyclescape 2988
What makes a cycling-friendly workplace?
We are building a list of the things that workplaces can do to encourage more cycling as well as sharing examples of best practice in Cambridge. This will help us to build our workplace cycling guide so please share your views. Cyclescape 2964
We would also like to hear your insights on Bicycle User Groups. Cyclescape 2966.
Work begins on cycle routes to Cambridge North Station
Green End Road, Water Lane, Nuffield Road
Work is about to begin on this Cross-City Cycle Routes City Deal project.
Green End Road from Water Lane to Nuffield Road: work for this section will start on 30 January
Nuffield Road: work is scheduled to start in the next twelve months
Green End Road from Nuffield Road to Milton Road: work is planned to start in the next twelve months
The County Council will shortly start work on a new new shared-use path will provide an off-road link from Milton Road to the new station via the disused track that runs between the First Public Drain/Cowley Road and Cambridge Business Park. It will be fully surfaced, 5 metres wide and have street lights along its length. The proposed path will provide a continuous route to the new train station, enabling cyclists and pedestrians to avoid motorised traffic and the limited space on Cowley Road.
We've asked for more information about the plans for this route and will keep our members informed. Cyclescape 1134

Ideally we would like a regular commitment of every second or third newsletter (that's two or three editions a year) but even one-off help will be welcome. You will need your own computer and design software (InDesign, Serif etc.) and sufficient skills to use it.
