We have received as request for a comment from Cambridge News. Our response is as follows:
"Cambridge Cycling Campaign welcomes any moves for increasing the investment in cycling, creating high quality segregated cycle routes where possible, and consideration of proportional liability or operating risk. Proportionate liability would make people on bicycles liable for civil compensation when they hit people walking and this should also reduce the risk of these collisions.
With this support of cycling, the biggest gainers are the people who still use vehicles such as taxi, bus, delivery and building companies.
Cambridge Cycling Campaign is a non-partisan body and welcomes moves from any political party to improve conditions for cycling."
