If your bike is stolen

Reporting the theft

It really is worth reporting the theft of your bike. It's important that they know the scale of theft taking place, and where the current locations are. They also manage to recover a surprising number of bikes that are not reported stolen, and so can't be returned to the owners.

Cambridge Police's phone number is (01223) 358966. Their other contact details are available online, as is their gallery of stolen cycles.

Our work to reduce theft

The Campaign has been involved in a number of initiatives to reduce cycle theft in and around Cambridge, and a number of articles from our newsletters are in the thread below.

Of particular interest is Simon Nuttall's work on the Cycle Theft Reduction Project with the Police, more information on which is on Simon's website.

See also information from the Cycle Parking Subgroup, campaigning for better cycle parking in and around Cambridge, and which members of the Campaign are encouraged to attend.
