Experimental cycle parking
| On 11 May, Councillor Evelyn Knowles, Mayor of Cambridge, opened these blocks of experimental cycle parking, replacing the 'wheel benders' round the Guildhall. The ones in this picture are a chunkier-than-usual Sheffield stand | 'Triangle 10' and 'triangle 20' racks. The experiment is funded by the Home Office as part of an experiment hoping to control cycle theft |
| These stands have been dubbed the 'scissors.' All the designs should be secure and durable | 'Small footprint' or SF stands take up little space on the pavement until someone locks a bike to them and might work very well outside shops, as well as here |
