To Ban or Not to Ban?

In January the council will meet to discuss the Burleigh Street cycle ban. One of our aims is to improve conditions for cyclist and promote cycling. It's hard to see that a ban can possible do this.

But what as a campaign should our approach be to the city centre ban?

Should we campaign to get that ban removed?
How concerned should we be about the proposed extension of the "pedestrianisation" in St Andrew's Street and Kings Parade?
Does the outcome of the Burleigh Street Ban affect the campaign' position on the ban(s)?
What is the campaign's position exactly?

You can expect a heated debate as we attempt to reach some consensus and decide where our resources are best deployed to achieve our aims.

The meeting, as usual, is on the first Tuesday of the month at the Friends Meeting House at 7:30pm. January's meeting is therefore on Tuesday 2nd January
