Historic sign in a forgotten corner by the Science Park: English, Welsh & Scottish Railway. For the access see >> #36543 <<.

Signage on this very narrow shared use pavement into Cambridge.

Historical signage

Route signs by the guided busway - it's good that this has been adopted as a bridleway, but some cycle-specific Sustrans signage would be good too.

Cycleway route signs (with mileages, not times).

Bollards and sign (giving mileages, not times) at the start of the cycleway alongside the guided busway.

Hovis National Byway signs at the Wimpole turn.

National Byway route signs in Barrington - and a byway around the Green.

Thompson's Lane

A series of three rather small and unusual signs direct the cyclist over this pavement, through a hatched bit of car park then through a gap in the hedges and eventually round to the left to get to the cycle parking shown at #28092. Each of ... [more]

Directional signage on the shared-use path.

Continuation markers on the Cambridge south-east cycle route.

Road signs in Melbourn.

Covered-up bridleway signage, at the Station Road crossing in Impington.

Yet more confusing signage on King Street - are cycles allowed both sides of the No Entry sign and motorbikes to the right? Shouldn't there be some kind of exemption sign under the No Entry itself?

Public Bridleway signage Westbound: St Ives 4 Eastbound: Cambridge 10, Longstanton 2 Photos along the route of the Busway between Oakington and St Ives.

Signage to the Jane Coston bridge at Milton Park and Ride.

Signage on the West Cambridge site

Someone needs lessons in logic.

With the removal of the bogus cycle lane sign #16530 "end of route" signs were added on Croft Holme Lane - #17385. On this section cyclists have to navigate to hairneedle bends with many lorries and HGV. The sign was removed in June 2009 ... [more]

Signage in Fulbourn

Signs at start of cycle route from A10 to Waterbeach. The signed route to Milton and Cambridge seems to be straight down the A10.

Signs for cycle route crossing the A11 dual-carriageway at Worsted Lodge

National Cycle Network signage in Reach - also note sign for short section of byway behind.

Revised council sign to take into account rerouting Route 11 over Riverside Bridge

A sign of the times

The view of the A10/M11 roundabout (from the cycle/foot-path by the northbound onramp onto the M11) before the road sign was erected

''Cyclists Dismount' - well, arguably if you want to cross the road, but certainly not to continue on National Cycle Network route 51 around the corner to the left.

Start of bridleway from north of Horningsea to Stow-cum-Quy (and footpath to Lode)

The cycle route to Newmarket from here is a quiet 15 miles one way, or 6 miles on busy roads the other way.

New cycle signage - but pedestrians (other than these PCSOs) won't keep out of the contraflow cycle lane until it's surfaced in red.

Directional signage on Coldham's Common

Directional signage, Coldham's Common

NCN 11 signage in Hinxton

No private cars are allowed across Oakington airfield, but it's widely abused. This route is part of NCN51.

Longstanton church and National Cycle Network signage.

National Cycle Network signs at junction of Over Rd and High St, Longstanton.

Signs for National Cycle Route 51 and road closure for guided bus construction.

Sedley Taylor Road - a short cut for taxis and white vans, but still a useful route

At last a sign!

Walking and Cycling Routes Take a right to Grafton Centre down Napier Street, and in the distance a sign points you to the left down Auckland Road to Midsummer Common

Cycle route into West Cambridge site, despite the chicane.

Footpath beside the American Cemetry. Can be quite muddy.

A combined walking and cycling sign to Chesterton Road, a quarter of a mile.

Chesterton Hall Crescent

Signage on popular cycle route.

Sign confirming that this path through the Beehive Centre is intended for cycles as well as walkers.

Luckily this road sign doesn't apply to the shared use path (NCN 51) on the other side of the road.

NCN51 route signs

More NCN51 signage. "End of Route" really means "route crosses road here".

It's not immediately obvious what NCN51 does here (it takes a detour up Heath Road to avoid the bends on the main road.)

This is where Hobson's Street meets St Andrew's Street. There are no road markings here because it would spoil the look of the college. Many drivers think it is a one-way street and cut this corner into the path of cyclists. See #13872.

Addenbrooke's hospital in the distance.

NCN51 goes to the Park and Ride site via this path at the end of Tiptree Close.

A cycle path here allows access to Howard Road and NCN 51 from Ditton Walk. Approach the junction with care - access to a busy industrial estate is hidden on the left.

Wadloes Footpath leaves the High Street to the left here; it's a useful cycle route to east Cambridge

Oliver (Sustrans Volunteer Ranger) on NCN11 near Milton

Detail of sign fixings.

This directional signage has been poorly fixed to the post and requires constant turning back to its correct position. Shoddy work by South Cambridgeshire District Council!

NCN 51 sign to the A14 underpass

Directional signage. At some point the other sign was a "Cyclists Dismount".

This directional signage for Park Street Cycle Park disappeared after a purge on sign pollution.
