There are many cycle routes in Kings Hedges. They are not all wide enough or smooth enough, but they score well for pervasiveness.
A bike ride between Cambridge and Babraham. New cycleway between Sawston and Babraham.
A bike ride between Cambridge and Babraham. This horse mounting block is the first hard evidence we've seen that this is a bridleway (and hence legitimately cyclable).
At last! a year after Grange Road was resurfaced, the cycle lanes have been replaced.
One of the nice things about Cambourne is that there are no Cycling or No Cycling signs - you can just go wherever it seems sensible.

See video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUgTfOKR0hU A lovely, mostly sunny ride begining alongside the Cam downstream of Cambridge. A few little residential dinks in between golden sunny fields ending in the Park and Ride (with big b ... [more]
See video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXsQQTet05w I've shown the failings in this path, at the end of Church Lane in Trumpington, several times. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4m25-ElLAA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DG6kZNF ... [more]
The smooth traffic free busway cycleway brings a big smile, and is a great way to shed a few pounds.
The busway cycleway looking towards Cambridge. Fabulously smooth and very fast riding surface.
Ring Fort Path route as proposed by Orchard Park Community Cllr Blair. The even part of the embankment is 3.50 m wide behind the barriers, but narrows further down. See also #31619.
At Orchard Road and Mill Lane (and Ambrose Way) the cycleway recedes from the main carriageway, leading on to crossings over speed-tables which will be marked for drivers to give way to cyclists.
Cottenham - Impington cycleway under construction. At crossings the path leads away the corner (approx location). See also #30370
Red illuminated studs indicate the location of bollards on each side of the path. This path has no street lighting and is pitch black at night. White illuminated studs have also been installed down the centre of the path: two or three can b ... [more]
During these ongoing works to add a promenade to Riverside the gate has been left ajar to allow cyclists to pass. My reading of the map sign shown at #30251 tells me that two cattle grids will be installed, and a pedestrian gate.
The new section of the Tins path. The fence was previously to the left of the trees here, its great to see the trees have been kept and the path made as wide as this. highway=footway bicycle=yes
Some day, all cycle routes will be like this. The surface is smooth, it's wide and there's street lighting.
The tins bridge nicely in place at last. There's a bit of finishing work to do, such as adding bollards to stop motor vehicle access, but should be finished in days/weeks now rather than months - we hope!
At last the subsidence has been patched up - previously all cyclists needed to use the extreme left-hand side.
Excellent to see that the lamp post (shown in #28939) has been moved out of the way of the path on this newly constructed footway.
This is a very useful link to the cycle bridge and the centre of Cambridge. Shame it was built so narrow, but great that it has no barriers.
This very useful cut through called Pig Lane mercifully has no awkward and ugly chicanes to spoil everyone's day. But it does have a bit of textured paving there.
I notice some textured paving has been added to this area around the Pig Lane cut-through. It is very pleasing that there are no silly barriers here.
Access to this very useful cut-through has been very significantly improved. Well done!
The wide section of the pavement cyclewayalongside Madingley Road, and an on road advisory cycle lane.
