Bumper-to-bumper residential car parking available, but not a spot of residential cycle parking, with bikes parked insecurely against very many houses here.
Q: Where's my bike? A: Probably been nicked! Please complain about this hopeless and insecure cycle parking.
(Hmm; quite a bad picture.) New cycle stands at Tesco Express, Kings Hedges. These five A-frames replace six fin-type(?) stands and the Tesco had been stand-less for a long period (several months?) after the resurfacing and landscaping work ... [more]
Reclaiming the streets? - this bike (with kickstand) has been using its DIY parking bay for some months now. Being in Newnham, it probably doesn't need to be secured to the wall.
Image showing what a typical residential cycle park will look like, laid out to the minimum dimensions in the Council's proposed new residential cycle parking guide. A big improvement on most existing situations, but still cramped and do ... [more]

It is very disappointing to find that the cycle parking at this new development does not meet the standards set by the City Council. Instead there are rubbish 'wheelbender' racks, but at least they have a covered shelter. Seeking more secur ... [more]
Cycle parking at Martin car park, Coton Countryside Reserve. OK rack design, but poor access and surface.
Station Cycles at the Grand Arcade cycle park - also £9 to fix a puncture while you wait!

Railings around Coe Fen open air children's swimming pool (pool not yet in use in early May 08) provide a good fixed point for bike parking. It's not clear if CCTV (sign on wall) covers the railings.
Railings and racks seem equally popular for parking bikes on Norfolk St, nr junction with East Rd, opposite St Matthew's Primary School and cafes, outside Ashley Court. Sunday morning 0830.
Entrance to Grand Arcade cycle park from Corn Exchange Street. The sign is not very conspicuous.

Where the bikes displaced from the pavement outside St Catharine's College have ended up - insecurely across the road. More on-street cycle parking needed instead of pay and display.
Cycle parking needed outside the Botanic Gardens. Several bikes left against the wall, insecurely. A few car parking spaces should be replaced by on-road cycle parking.
Secure cycle parking needed in this area. There is plenty of space. Parking is provided nearby for cars.
We asked for on-street cycle parking here but were told that it could not be provided because it would reduce revenue from car parking. Totally unacceptable.
Cycle parking (complete with recycling bins) outside the Library, given a temporary reprieve.
With nowhere to park bikes on the street I'm forced to struggle to get my bikes in and out of the house like this, followed by a walk along the narrow footway to get to a wide enough gap between the parked cars.
A notice announcing the immediate suspension of the temporarily re-located cycle parking during the redevelopment of Bradwell's Court. (Sorry for the poor quality of the photo - camera battery was running out and had no time to get focus ri ... [more]

Why not have residential cycle parking instead of bollards either side of the crossing here? There is a hairdresser opposite which would also benefit.
Space for car parking, but no cycle parking, with bikes left against the wall unsecured. An ideal spot for a row of on-road cycle parking, instead of one or two pay-and-display spaces.
On Sunday, this stretch of Regent Street is like a car park, as parking is free. But is there any cycle parking? None whatsoever.
The compact 'nappy-pin' design of cycle parking tends not to support the frame of a bike well, with the result that bikes fall over more than with other designs.
Cycle parking outside the Christ's Lane development, apparently likely to be removed as part of the Core Scheme Stage 4 proposals.
Newly re-angled cycle parking opposite Club 22. Creates a little more roadspace in what has always been a tight stretch. Seemingly an unproblematic change.

Put a bike here and no bikes behind it can be removed from the parking. There is nowhere behind the bike for it to rollo backwards. Note also the terrible design of the wheel bender parking.
Impressively hopeless cycle parking. Wheel benders one row of which are inaccessible due to being too close to the rear fence and under an incredibly ugly shelter which has no gutter so just concentrates rain onto cyclists trying to use it. ... [more]
Lack of cycle parking on King's Parade. Bikes are being leant (often insecurely) against the lampposts on the pavement. There is plenty of space on the road to provide on-street parking, as has been done so effectively outside St Catharine' ... [more]

Cycle parking needed in this area - not sure where it could go though. The railings on the left are often full, and cycles are often parked insecurely on the wide pavement against the walls of the University Centre.
Cycle parking needed outside the shops. Several fences have 'no cycles' signs, indicating the usual shortage here.
Cycle parking needed outside the Co-op (and other shops) on Hills Road. No formal parking provided whatsoever.
