Strange to have the End of Cycle Route sign before the bridge - are cyclists meant to dismount? Why are these signs needed anyway?

It's not clear whether cyclists are supposed to keep to the wider path to the right.

The new Tins cycleway.

Some day, all cycle routes will be like this. The surface is smooth, it's wide and there's street lighting.

This shows the extension to the bend after the railway bridge towards Cherry Hinton on the Tins path

Tricky to get a shot through the bars of the barrier but this shows you how well the resized bridge now fits. See also #29631

Even though the bridge isn't right you can see what the new cycleway along the Tins will look like now

Even though it wasn't constructed properly, the lifting of the bridge gives a good impression of what the new cycleway will look like at The Tins

Tins Bridge turns out to be too long - or more likely, the abutments weren't put in correctly. They'll have to take out some big chunks of reinforced concrete and re-lay them, then try again. All fixed in #30171.

Oh how embarrassing. The new bridge over the Tins is lifted into place, only to find it is about 40cm too long.

Odd how snow suddenly appears on the cycle track.
