The gate is open and people walk to the roundabout, reducing the distance by 75%. With a 1/20 gradient achievable, it would be good great if those using push chairs, wheelchairs or bicycles could benefit from it, too.

Why go the long way (770 m) if it could be 200 m (less then 5% gradient). See area #31012 and map #10348. Ring Fort Road will be Orchard Park's commercial area with shops and a second hotel.
A direct path from the A14 Toucan crossing (to be upgraded in 2011) to the Premier Inn Hotel, the primary school playground etc would be a descent of less than 9 m over a 200 m distance.
