This road is an 'Urban Clearway' at peak times. It is alsop illegal to park HGVs on the Pavement. The person responsible for works here was unconcerned.
This is officially a cycle path and a very convenient way from Milton Road/Kendal Way to the river Cam (Frank's Lane / Anglers Way, over a green, crossing Fen Rd near the railway bridge). Unfortunately the path is obstructed on both ends.
Many of the old stiles on Fen Rivers Way along the Cam have been replaced by these gates. (Note that this is officially a footpath only and it's illegal to ride a bike along it.)
It really is quite difficult to understand why these 'pram arms' are here. They are not preventing cattle moving, nor is it near a road junction. They are just a barrier, which more to the point would be very hard to see at night.
