Works on the M25/A30 bridge over the Thames - there isn't usually a barrier between the road and footway (bikes should be pushed).

Typical situation on Hills Road. What are MCLs good for if cars (BT service van, number plate FL05 ZNH ) stand / stop and even park in them?
Why is this obvious route closed? But this whole area north of the Nanoscience building is very balkanised, with through routes blocked off.
Severe chicanes - these get in everyone's way. The clear desire line here surely calls for a crossing - like a raised table or zebra or toucan.
The small opening here successfully slows cyclists down when entering the newly-cycleable 'pedestrian' zone.
