The forest of posts on the Gresham Rd approach to the Gonville Place Toucan encourages people to walk in the cycleway, leading to conflict.

Cyclists approaching cannot see the crossing indicators, which are turned to face the traffic.

The position of the crossing indicators encourages cyclists to wait at the kerbside, blocking the Gonville Plavce pavement, and encourages pedestrians to wait in front of the entrance to Gresham Rd - blocking the path of cyclists wishing to use the crossing.

This crossing was formerly a PARALLEL crossing, with seperate cycle and pedestrian crossings. Now converted to a combined Toucan crossing with drastically reduced width.

This crossing has nearside (Puffin style) crossing indicators only.
