Note the small blue sign that allows bikes to legally pass to the right of this bollard. Its very unusual, but it does work.

Note: a cycling campaign leisurely ride was stopped by Police going through this gap in March 2006. The ride leader was able to point out the bypass sign to the officer, and the ride continued on.
