Possible improvements to the intimidating stretch of very exposed and narrow cycle lane on Newmarket Road near to the Barnwell Road Roundabout. See #12407
We suggest:
1. Removing the left hand traffic lane exiting the roundabout eastbound, as far as the crossing. Widen the cycle lane here to 2m (the recommended width).
2. Convert the crossing to a straight through geometry, with no stagger or sheep pen. Preferably single stage
3. Create an ASL at the Ditton Lane junction.
