Four-way green light for cyclists as used in the Netherlands would be suitable for this crossing. Unfortunately at the Milton Rd with Union Lane / Arbury Rd junction the four-way traffic light phase is exclusive to "pedestrians".

A cheeky little sign post on the right hand side indicates that the the cycle lane ends here, some 8 m before the traffic lights at Arbury Road. Most school children cycling here don't notice...
