In 1996 I had a serious motorcycle accident (Coma for 7 days) and am disabled as a result. It's not always a totally obvious disability as the only thing that shows from a distance is the walking isn't good as I have a slight hemiplaegia. Due to epilepsy and other things I can no longer drive so my big brother got me a little pedal tricycle.

Since then I have spent all my mobility allowance and run up HUGE debts on buying more trikes and a few bikes too! It is a lot easier for me to ride than to walk and I can cover distances that I would never dream of doing any other way.

I occasionally manage a few days cycle camping with a carer. I dislike "Shared Use" cycle paths as I feel that the roads should be used with caution to all but I understand others that feel unsafe and don't know the answer.
