I currently cycle and swim (another good exercise for amputees because of the extra buoyancy you get in water) every day and cycle about 4,000 miles per year (if I'm working). As I'm between jobs at the moment, I'm cycling more than 100 miles per week. I don't like walking far and can't run at all (my excuse is that I'm an ABOVE knee amputee!), both of which are "weight-bearing" activities, so I cycle as my main form of transport.
I also work with a charity cycling organisation in Croydon called Cycling for All (CfA), which has 2 sessions per week (Saturday and Monday), mainly for special needs adults and children to encourage them to pedal trikes around an athletics track.
