Pictures of cycling infrastructure in and around Oldenburg, Germany. Located between Bremen (D) and Groningen (NL), this university town of 150000 inhabitants about 40 miles off the north sea coast is surrounded by "Fehn" (fens). With cities like Muenster and Bremen the old Danish city of Oldenburg is considered among those with the highest share of bicycle use among means of transport. Shared use pavement on a relatively narrow, high traffic road with bus service (& two grammar schools). Cars turning have to wait for cyclists. NO "cyclists dismount", NO "cyclists give way".

Cycle way around the pedestrianized city centre avoids need for city centre cycling. Smooth kerbs, wide enough crossings for two bicycles and a zebra for pedestrians.
