BICYCLE ART EXHIBITION AND COMPETITION RULES

To celebrate Bike Week entries to Cambridge Cycling Campaign's Bicycle Art Competition will be exhibited in the Central Library from 28 May to 6 June and then in the Guildhall during Bike Week, from 17 to 21 June. The prizes, generously donated by our sponsors are:

£200 voucher to spend at Ben Hayward Cycles
£100 voucher to spend with www.dutchbike.co.uk
£30 voucher to spend at Drake's Cycles, Hills Road Cambridge.

Entries of paintings, collages, sculptures or other artwork from people of any age are welcome.

Entries should be sent by post to Cambridge Cycling Campaign, ART COMPETITION, PO Box 204, Cambridge CB4 3FN and must be received not later than 25 May 2002.
Items that are too large or fragile to post may be delivered to a private address in Cherry Hinton Road. Please telephone 01223 245566 a few days in advance to arrange a time. Very large items may have to be judged at the artist's own premises.
The artwork must have been made by the person who submits it and must be clearly labelled with the artist's name, address, telephone number, e-mail address (if any) and date of birth (if under 18 years old) together with a statement that the artist has read the rules of the competition and accepts them.
The selection of works for the exhibition and the decision whether to award prizes and to whom they should be awarded will be carried out by three judges, two of whom will be independent and the third of whom will be a member of the Bike Week organising group. Judging will take place during the first period of the Exhibition. The decision of the judges will be final. No correspondence will be entered into.
Cambridge Cycling Campaign regrets that it cannot accept responsibility for loss of or damage to any entries, however caused. The exhibition will, for most of the time, be unmanned. Artists who wish to insure their work will have to do this for themselves.
Arrangements will be made for those who wish to collect their artwork after the closure of the exhibitions to do so. Any work uncollected within a month of the closure of the exhibitions will be disposed of.
No member of the Committee of Cambridge Cycling Campaign or of the Bike Week organising group is eligible to enter the competition. There are no cash alternatives.
Cambridge Cycling Campaign reserves the right to change the venue of the exhibitions.
The prizes will be awarded during the Cycle Try-out Show on June 16th.
A list of the names of the artists whose works have been selected for the Exhibition will be posted on the website.
