Cam to Coast 2011 ride To mark the end of Cycling England, a variety of bike rides between Cambridge and Southend-on-Sea are planned. There is a choice of two ten mile rides, or the full 74 miles. The Cambridge rides will start from Jesus Green, Cambridge, where riders can register from 7.00am and set off anytime between 7.30am and 9.00am. The route will pass through the centre of Cambridge, Addenbrooke's, Saffron Walden and on through Essex to the cycling demonstration town of Southend-on-Sea. The ride will help raise funds for the British Heart Foundation, and so there will be a participation fee of around £20 per rider. Full details, and to register for the event are on the British Heart Foundation website. Help promote the event by downloading and displaying this poster. |

Rob King, Outspoken Delivery, speaking at Green Enterprise Community event Rob, co-founder of Cambridge's innovative local cycle courier firm will share their story. The business was founded in a love of challenge, working outdoors and meeting new people, plus wanting to make Cambridge a more pleasant and less polluted place. Their specialised bikes are now a frequent sight on Cambridge streets, delivering anything from legal documents to medical samples (even beer!). An informal event to get together fixed and single-speed riders, men and women, from the Cambridge area for a social ride (not race training!) with a chance to talk about bikes and get to know one another. Start 10am at Newmarket Road Park and Ride under the giant bike sculpture in the second car park. Distance 20-25 miles at round about 12mph on cycle paths, quiet roads and part of the Lodes Way. The last couple of miles is urban, to get to the finish at the Mill Pond, Cambridge where you can sit with the bike and have a drink. |

'Welcome to Cambridge' bike ride We've organised a short Sunday ride primarily to introduce new visitors to Cambridge to Cycling in the City. All are welcome, however. The ride will start with a simple free bike check. We shall visit the two main city centre cycle parks and then ride to the railway station and Addenbrooke's along the new busway cycleway track. We'll return to the Guidlhall via Hills Road, and the tranquil Coe Fen cycle route. Starting from in front of the Guildhall at 12 noon. |
